Why Install a Water Filter?

April 28, 2015

Well, the simple answer is that you want higher quality water. Although the Arizona Department of Environment Quality takes great pains to assure the valley’s drinking water is safe and readily available, it cares little about optimizing water quality.

At Parker and Sons, we are proud to help guide you through the process of bringing clean, quality water into your home.

Absorption Filters

Also known as a carbon absorption filter, absorption filters can be used to eliminate the excess chlorine typically found in municipal water. In antiquity, the romans diluted their drinking water with alcohol for safe drinking, in modern times we use chlorine. Although chlorine is effective at removing impurities, it leads to the unpleasant taste and smell, typical of tap water.

Filter Effectiveness

Your absorption filter will eventually become clogged and will require replacing. The failure to maintain your water filter will almost defeat the purpose of installing it in the first place.

If you notice a reduction in home water pressure, then it may be the case that your absorption filter is clogged. In the event that your water filter is clogged, it is best to consult a professional, like Parker and Sons, in order to bring your drinking water up to speed.

Reverse Osmosis Systems

A simple carbon absorption filter will not protect against every contaminant that permeates your drinking water. Some heavy metals such as mercury and lithium can seep into your water supply.

A reverse-osmosis system is the most comprehensive water filtration system available to date. It will eliminate almost every impurity and drastically increase the quality of your drinking water.

Reach out to Parker and Sons so we can help you find the right water filtration system.
