Honoring Senior Airman Devon Ortega Through Seats for Soldiers

That is why we proudly partner with Channel 3 Arizona Family for the Seats for Soldiers program. This special program honors active duty service members and veterans right here in our community.

On February 21, we had the privilege of honoring Senior Airman Devon Ortega at the Phoenix Suns vs. Orlando Magic game. Devon attended with his daughter, Mariluna Ortega Castillo. It was a night filled with pride, gratitude, and well-deserved recognition.

A Phoenix Hero Serving Our Nation

Devon Ortega calls Phoenix, Arizona, his home. He serves in the United States Air Force as an E-4 Senior Airman. He has served for five years and will reach six years this October. He currently serves in the reserves.

Devon works with the 944th AMXS as an F-35 mechanic. He plays a critical role in keeping aircraft safe and mission-ready. His work ensures pilots can fly with confidence.

His dedication speaks for itself.

Service Highlights That Inspire

Devon has deployed to Saudi Arabia. During that time, he supported the 301st during its final F-16 deployment before transitioning to the F-35.

While deployed, he earned special recognition:

Recognized as Maintainer of the Year
Received an award package for his outstanding performance

He has also supported active duty on TDY assignments. After returning home, he earned an incentive flight in an F-16. That experience honored his dedication and excellence.

A Special Night with the Phoenix Suns

Through Seats for Soldiers, Devon and his daughter attended the Suns vs. Magic game on February 21.

During the game, the Suns organization and Arizona Family recognized Devon in a special salute. Fans learned about his service, and the community celebrated his story.
