If it isn’t, some unpleasant problems could start cropping up, not to mention the fact that your energy bill is going to leap through the roof! Over the next few days we are going to discuss a few tips and tricks for staying warm this winter season all while saving a few extra dollars on your monthly energy bill. That sounds like a win-win to us!

1. Reverse Your Ceiling Fan

You don’t need a degree in thermodynamics to know that warm air rises! This is a problem if you yourself are trying to stay warm. After all, you want the warm air to stay down here, near the ground, where you are. It isn’t doing anyone any good all the way up there warming up the cobwebs. (Side note, maybe it’s time to clean up there….) By reversing your ceiling fan, you can push warm air back down into the area of your home that is actually lived in! This is one of the most cost-effective ways to warm a room, and it is a technique that you can implement immediately. There is no waiting around for the furnace to fire up or twiddling your thumbs waiting for the HVAC technician to arrive!
