Air Conditioning Has Been Around Forever

For as long as humans have been recording history, we have been trying to manage indoor air quality. Of course, in ancient times we relied on pretty rudimental techniques. The Egyptians would hang moist reeds in their windows to cool their homes. The Romans circulated water from aqueducts through the walls of their home in order to keep temperatures down. The first rotary fan was created by a Chinese inventor named Ding Huan during the Han Dynasty. As you can see, HVAC technology has progressed a long way since these days.

The Modern HVAC Industry

In the United States there are number of governing bodies and organizations that strive to ensure that HVAC manufacturers and contractors are held to the highest standards. The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers is one such organization. Becoming an HVAC technician requires extensive technical training.
