At Parker and Sons, we are proud to give back to the community with the help of our customers. Our Everybody Wins Program is a way to show our appreciation for the world’s largest sports organization for children and adults with mental disabilities. For every repair or maintenance call we received, a donation of $ 5 dollars will be contributed to the Special Olympics.
The Special Olympics started in 1962 as a summer camp for children with disabilities. It has grown immensely since then, providing year round training and competitions for more than 4.4 million athletes worldwide. Some of the events include Alpine skiing, aquatics, badminton, basketball, bocce, handball, judo, powerlift, and table tennis just to name a few. Athletes of all skill levels are encouraged to participate, the primary focus is on community and fun.
One of the reasons Parker and Sons contributes to the Special Olympics is for the deeper symbol it represent. The Special Olympics is a symbol for human courage and growth. Anyone volunteering or spectating can learn from the athletes.
A Triangle of Mutual Benefit
The Everybody Wins Program is a simple concept and operation. The program is geared to benefit the community, the Special Olympics, and even ourselves. Every time a customer calls in a repair or maintenance call we alert them that a $ 5 dollar donation has been made in their name. That $5 dollar donation goes directly to the Special Olympics and consequently, the athletes. We in turn rest easy at night knowing that we have supported a just and benevolent cause. Our goal is to raise $400k. We are currently at $300K. As we move into the summer month’s maintenance calls will increase, and consequently, so will philanthropic donations to a beloved charity.
