Listen, we have all had a bad home services experience at least once before in our lives. Even us here at Parker & Sons. Universally, those experiences came before we started working for Parker & Sons, when we learned that incredible services were only a phone call away, at (602)2-REPAIR. However, for those of you who have had a negative experience before, we understand that it is hard to move on from that. Today, we are going to go over some tips you can use to make sure you hire the right electrician the next time.
Always Check Licensing
Never, ever hire an unlicensed electrician or contract or under any circumstances. They may try to convince you that they can get the job done, and they will tell you that they can do it for cheaper, but the risks are just too high. Without licensing, there is no proof that they actually know what they are doing. The licensing process is difficult and highly involved. Individuals will not be able to pass it unless they are competent. And incompetent electrical work can be HIGHLY DAMAGING. This is not a time to cut corners in hopes of saving a dollar. Speaking of which…
Ask about Insurance Coverage
Even the most skilled and experienced professional can make mistakes. Such mistakes can lead to costly damage. This is why insurance is so important. Typically, you should look for an electrician or contractor who is insured for at least $1 million. This brings us back to the idea of why it is so risky to attempt to save money by hiring someone who is not licensed or insured. Doing so may save you $15 today, but it could end up costing you thousands in the long run. Is that a risk you are willing to take?
That is all for now! Check back soon for part two in our series on hiring the right electrician.
